In his deal making career, Amr has led and negotiated more than 60+ M&A deals across the globe and more than 15+ IPO in the Bay Area. Some of the most notable transactions include Facebook acquisition of WhatsApp, Hortonworks IPO, Box.com IPO, Verizon data centers’ acquisition and many others. In the last 5 years, Amr negotiated and led 20+ acquisitions across the globe for a total deal value of $15B. Amr leads Global M&A & Strategic Ventures at Equinix, a global leader in digital infrastructure
Prior to Equinix, Amr was the head of Corporate Finance at PWC, where he spent more than 15 years advising some of the most sophisticated Fortune 500 companies and pre- IPO startups backed by leading VCs. With PWC, Amr assisted notable VCs in the Silicon Valley with their startup investments
Amr is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in California and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. Amr serves as an advisor and board member to a number of cutting edge startups.
Mahmoud Ali, General Partner
Mahmoud Ali is a general partner at A’Z Angels, where he focuses on investing in fintech, crypto, and security focused startups. Mahmoud’s extensive network on the tech, security, and crypto space enabled A’Z Angels to participate in exclusive investment opportunities such as Animoca Brands, FTX, Block Tackle, and Strata Identity.
Mahmoud started his career as a security advisor at a number of global consulting firms before moving to Big Tech where he was reporting to the world’s top security executives at Yahoo, Uber, Airbnb, and BitMEX, running large scale projects focused on Information Security.
He is a champion of the blockchain (DLT) technologies and related applications and frequently gives educational sessions on blockchain, investments and financial literacy to minority and underserved communities.
Mahmoud also serves as an Advisor to a number of cutting edge startups in Silicon Valley and the MENA region, where he works closely with founders, bringing mentorship and unique industry expertise such as verygoodsecurity (VGS), neo.tax, Taager, Deduce, Rain and others
